I forgot to tell you this


Hey girl, hey!!!

We're only one month away from FriendFest, and I am feeling anxious as ever. Not only is this the first time that I'll bring women together in LA in this way, but my family life hit a rough spot two weeks ago that broke me down. Immediately after I recorded a few episodes of the podcast, I got hit with news that has me up at 3 am, anxious, crying between meetings, praying, and conflicted. My central nervous system is triggered in the worst ways, and I had to reset to get back to myself.

Here are some things I did/am doing to restore my mind and body during this season:

  1. Praying and spending MORE time with God: I am steadying my heart and mind on God because He is my source, and if I am going to heal, I don't want any alternative sources trying to take God's place in my life.
  2. Exercise and meditation: I use my Aura app for calming meditations that keep my mind from going into overdrive, and I have been pushing myself even harder in workouts to remind me that "I can do hard things."
  3. Baths at least 3 times a week: I've found that I get most aligned in the evening when I take a bath before bedtime. It sets the tone for tranquility and peace in my body, which I need to offset bad dreams and insomnia.
  4. Fasting: I'm eating bird portions these days because I want to keep my body clear of anything that can weigh it down and cause inflammation. So, I've cut calories by 40%, have limited sugars, and limited breads/pastas (which I love!)
  5. Music: I've been diving deep into music because, for me, music is a safe space where you can feel all the feels without judgment, response, or criticism. Sometimes I don't want to talk; instead, I'd rather let music be the space where expressions roam freely.

I hope that in a few weeks, I'm able to write to you and share that all is well, my body is healed, and things are progressing. My prayer is that, if you're in a similar spot, you know that you're not alone and a better version of you is arising!
