What I Do When Doubt Creeps In

Hey girl, hey!!!

We're seven weeks away from FriendFest, and I have to be honest... a wave of doubt hit my heart and mind last week.

I was driving home on the 405 with a stream of negative thoughts floating through my mind:

  1. Will the event be amazing?
  2. What if women don't come?
  3. Should I have done this event in New York?
  4. Will new sponsors jump on board?

And more!

And y'all, this is after doing conferences for over 10 years for The Great Girlfriends and for many major brands! So, why the flood of doubt?

Because doubt is a part of the process.

I repeat, doubt is a part of the process, for me, and YOU!

Doubt is not an indicator that you're headed in the wrong direction; doubt is a natural response to doing something you sincerely believe in.

When I think of my extraordinary moments of faith, they were always paired with moments of insecurity, fear, or disbelief.

In those moments, I have to stop and assess the following:

  1. Are these feelings of uncertainty designed for me to refine my process or stop me from growing to my next level?
  2. What's valid and what is simply confusion?
  3. Who can I partner with to strategize my way out of the doubt and back into certainty?

Why do I ask these questions?

Because we're all guilty of reading too deeply into a feeling or turning our hearts and minds toward the frustration when success feels far away or too silent. So, asking the right questions always helps me frame my direction and lift the burden of emotional stagnancy.

Why am I sharing this?

Because (1) you need to get your ticket to FriendFest 😆 and (2) many of you are sitting where I was last week and feeling unsure of how to turn things around. Let me encourage you: things will turn around when you stop and assess those doubts with a clear lens and a great girlfriend by your side. So, be encouraged!

I'm cheering you forward from victory to victory!
